Guineas
We are down to six baby guineas. We do have twenty due on the 18th, pearl in color. Just wonderful insect eaters. A natural way to get rid of fleas and ticks, even ants. You gotta love them. Sold out currently
I don't know anything about these... do they - fly? - have to be caged? Are they very vocal? Are they good with dogs? :-) Not sure if our neighborhood would object but our backyard could use a few of these.
They are not as loud as dogs but are like dogs. When guineas see something out of place or new they will yell at it. They are a great addition to roam the yard because they eat fleas and ticks and ants.Rodents hate them and they will kill a snake if there is more than 4 or so of them together. We have not seen one flea this year and a few want to be ant piles have disappeared. They are fun to watch chasing down a flying insect so they are hours of entertainment. As long as you have more than four you are safe letting them fin for themselves. You would have to contain them for a couple of weeks then let them out to do their job and they just keep a nice circle around the house and at night fly up into the trees to sleep. If you can sell it to the neighbors as a safe pesticide and eggs if you care to find their nest they are good about hiding them. The only time they fly is to nest at night in the trees or if they are chased, to get in a tree. They get a lot of attention around here people are very curious. People slow down to see them in the yard. We have had people stop turn around and pull in the drive way to ask about them.
